I don’t think it’s necessary. The limbs aren’t moving enough to “jump” off the threaded rod. These are typically being installed on limbs with a lot of downward force. In the most recent one we installed we were using a 3 ton car jack to lift the limb approx 6 inches. It would take tons of force...- NickfromWI
