    Well... I did it... It wasn't easy... Or cheap... But there it is. Gotta bolt up the hose guides and somehow mount the saw to the hook can tomorrow. Already got a couple weeks of work booked.

    Thanks for your input. I think me and many of my clients have a similar mindset to that. I still haven't pulled the trigger on the saw and I'm trying to still gather info on the best way to go. Meanwhile getting the reels and faster connections is taking absolutely forever... They are at least...

    Manitex 50155SHL? .....Now that's a badass starter crane... Well it's just a badass crane.... Probably my dream rig. I had a 38124SHL and I loved that thing. Very stable, very capable, and decently lightweight for what it can do.

    Sounds like the available winch isn't designed very well.... Seems like making your own is the way to go. I was only bringing it up because you said that was the weakness of the merlo. Imo the weakness seems to be the high cost and hassle of transporting it. Looks like a great machine though...
