I love the 11mm Yale blaze, but that rebel and I were not a good match…agreed, it's super skinny. Once I got used to it no worries though. I was mostly an 11.7 person for my time climbing but did a couple of stints with 11mm, definitely a different style. The effortless way the ascenders run through the 11 is really nice.
Do you notice much of a difference in the diameter and weight of Squir and StatX? I use StatX and I love it, but it does feel pretty thick and heavy for 11.5.Been playing with 11.5's - Squir yup, but am now really liking StatX from Drayer and Scion, all in the AK2. I think all three are really nice ropes. I find 11's hard on my hands.
The StatX feels heavier and stiffer like a rope that'll cable, but on couple of days up in the trees now (both SRT and MRS on a pulley saver), it didn't. It definitely has a different feel tho. Sterling nailed it I think with Scion - same "full" kinda feel but way more flexible/ better hand. AK2 settings for me are the same for Squir and StatX but have to dial friction top and bottom up one notch for Scion (or maybe it's the kitchen sink I bring with me). For me, Squir is nice but I think it's now neck and neck between Scion and StatX for favourite rope (sorry Tachyon). 'Nuther weird thing - StatX smells different when I open the bag so not sure if it has some coating or what. But I do like it (the purple is kinda racy for an old guy but whatever). Cheers.Do you notice much of a difference in the diameter and weight of Squir and StatX? I use StatX and I love it, but it does feel pretty thick and heavy for 11.5.
