I believe the stopper knot is the “stevedore” … knottt sure I’m tying it right. But otherwise I’ve been using a double fisherman’s one side stays tied on the dogbone. The hitch I believe is what Richard uses, one turn/half hitch and then reverse the turn direction and wrap up the rope and cross in front and through the bone. I’ve tried many different hutch chord hrc has worked well in this configuration with the bifrost. What's the knot you're using?
I like the amount of wraps as it grabs consistently. And yes I think you nailed it with the smoothness of the kernmantle. I can mess around with this hitch tightening things up and maybe losing a wrap. I love the endless possibilitiesThat is a lot of wraps. Are you a heavy climber or does that help with the kernmantle smoothness?
Tying instructions anywhere? Internet search no good resultsKnut H
Modified Catalan but may be kown by other names. What's the knot you're using?
No, it’s the Knut H, you are the only one calling it a Modified Catalan. There is no Catalan now as it was shown to be the same as the much earlier Arbsession. You claim the Knut H doesn’t resemble the Knut, but looks more like the Catalan, or Arbsession, now. Side by side below.Modified Catalan but may be kown by other names.

One final note, this is a HitchHikerXF thread, please take your "Sticht" stuff to another place so as not to hijack the content and clutter the thread....... There is no Catalan now ...........wraps repeated two times, this creates enough friction, like a HH, to easily release on SRT, a multscender friction hitch, like the Sticht.
The video of Jesse tying the hitch is the Arbsession, not the Knut H, so which looks more like the Knut H, from the drawings above, the Knut, or the Arbsession? And I will continue to call it a Modified Catalan, you can call it WHATEVER you like! We have had this old discussion far too many times! It is a Catalan because that is what Jesse showed me and it has the last leg of the wraps as tied in the original HH by Paul.
It works perfectly for me and that is one of the great things about hitches and hitch cord, it can be tailored to the exact needs of the user and simply reflects the art of the user. (besides being the safest and least vulnerable to accidental release)
I’ll give you the same respect that you are showing me, deflection.

I think you just accused me of stealing but perhaps I am reading too much into that so I'll move on. Personally I see it as a misunderstanding that has gone too far and unfortunately, I am not one to give up, so I will try to again clarify how I see it.TomatoTomahto- I read this as what Richard wants Richard takes.
Why do you feel the need to constantly start a pissing match over hitch names with Richard? Please start your own thread and simply let Richard have his much deserved moment in the sun.I’ll give you the same respect that you are showing me, deflection.
