DMM Harness

The strong, seemingly unanimous opinion from those of you who have the most similiar opinions to me about other gear particularities and climbing style, with regards to the sequoia, is enormously reassuring, as spending this kind of money on anything right now has me feeling weak in the knees.

I rather take a oldschool ride than a sequoia. I actually rocked both on for removals and the other for pruning for years. Granted this was new release of v.1. I had a limb break out from under me on a limb walk with the sequoia on a sorta slack line. I still don’t know how in the hell it happened but the waist belt opened on the shock load and had it all up in my armpit and the leg loops way too far up my crotch.
Bought the TM after sitting in the onyx. Hated the onyx?! And the TM felt like laying in a bed after two weeks of sleeping in the ground!
Oddly now I’m loving the onyx.

The sequoia is hands down the worst saddle I’ve ever climbed in.

I abandoned the idea of having a pruning saddle and a removal. Yet I’ll put on the backup TM that is entirely stripped for trees that a few handsaw cuts are all that’s needed. But 19/20 times I just reach for my main saddle it would be different if I did big saw work 661 range and up aloft.

I certainly have no love for the Sequoia, but coming from a rock/alpine climbing background, it was familiar to the kinds of harnesses I was used to. Of course in those pursuits you’re usually not hanging in the harness continuously (and there’s a reason hanging belays always kinda suck). Upgrading to the Kinisi for me was similar to switching from a hardtail mountain bike to a full suspension ride—just plain smoother top to bottom! I’m actually really appreciating the adjustable bridges too and with the tails clipped around back on a microvault I don’t even notice them. I doubt you’ll have any regrets on your decision @Matias

I am a big fan of nice leatherwork and would love to get my hands on a MCRS. I am just getting started in all this, and will get to know how much I agree or disagree soon enough.

I was mostly just posting to let everyone know that if they were specifically looking for a big sale before pulling the trigger, that 25% off DMM is a thing right now.
Man I've got the deal for you..........................

@Matias Years ago @rico sent me a MCRS as a gesture of kindness. It's on a shelf in the garage. Hasn't been worn in years. I love it but I won't use it for reasons not worth rehashing. I have to see what size it is but I'd be happy to pass it on to you if you can cover shipping. It'll have to be restructured. The suspension is way past time to rebuild but I'm sure somebody here could help with that. Consider it and let me know. Even if you just wanna try it and send it back to me, thats fine also. I would hang on it low and just figure out the fit. I don't see issued in that. It's not beat to shit, just been on a shelf for longer than 6 years.

Just saw that all the bridge options are now available for the Kinisi, two eye, one eye, no eye, and webbing:
Didn't see those options on Arbsession website...odd to advertise something on IG without putting it on the website first.
I think the Kinisi would be more tempting to me without the adjustable bridge (assuming that would also lower the price a decent chunk).

All the bridge options are available through tabs on the one page for replacement bridges

Yea, the fact that it is sold as a singular thing that comes one way is lame. They should have all those options to pick before you order it, with final price based on options. Like when you buy a car/truck.

frankly, I would pay the same price to have it sent with the 115cm no eye bridges, but now I would have to spend $63 more to do that, and just have the long ones left over for what? This first time, I intend to sew the core and cover together at the length I want for full extension and cut off the extra, but I know most folks don't wanna sew for 2 hours to mod their bridges.

I wonder if they’ll make the other options available eventually as different stock setups. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re trying to get the adjustable bridge out there initially to convert some skeptics who haven’t tried it before. I’m sure it’s not for everyone, but I bet there are a lot of folks who think it’s not for them but might actually come to appreciate it.

Youre a lucky man, it’s the ride of a lifetime. I traded mine for a BDB years ago, probably should’ve just bought a bone. Hoping to stumble upon another someday like I did with the first. @Steve Connally if he doesn’t take it, I would jump on with nostalgic excitement.

Still praying someone mentions they have a stashed away treeflex also but… that is a dream on another level I think.

Can I use the DMM rope bridge adjuster on different saddles?
The way they attach to the plate with little bolts, I doubt it, but I suspect that a clever, resourceful guy could figure out a way to make it work. Probably gonna look a bit sus, but it would give you dual adjustable bridges. I had a roll'n'lock in my cart when I was talkin to the Dr. and then decided to go this route.
