When I posted this comment, I knew you'd come back and take another swing at it. Once again predictable. And still weak... that was predictable too.

It doesn't matter how good you are with a chainsaw, you've lost all credibility. You hate Trump because of what a lying POS he is, yet somehow fail to see the same qualities in yourself... that's projection. That's why you get so triggered by him... you project your shadow on him. You have no moral compass when it comes to lying, yet somehow expect better from the politicians...

All the corruption at the macro level is a reflection of the cumulative decline of integrity within the populace. We all suck, and that's why this country is being run into the ground by evil men, right before our eyes.

I originally called this cut the "Stangle", but thanks to a suggestion from Mick Dempsey, renamed it "the trapdoor".

The cut is used to blow a top out when the top is taller than the drop zone has room for. The purpose of this cut is to control the direction of the fall with a hinge, using a steep downward facing and narrow Humboldt, so that as soon as the face closes, the but slides right off the cut, and the top drops straight down and spears into the ground. This prevents damage to the surrounding trees. It's crucially important that the top moves far enough away on the hinge before the face closes, so that when the top drops, it doesn't hit the operator on the way down.

That video illustrates the cut better than the previous one you posted. I don't think I have seen anyone make their face cuts pushing the tip of the bar though like that. Where did that come from? What is the thought process?
 
I am versed in the salami cut, but I am curious for anyone's take on that style of jabbing the tip of the bar through to make the face. I have never seen anyone do it that way and wonder if anyone else is rockin that regularly?
 
The Game of Logging curriculum teaches a different technique. A wider notch, cut to a specific minimum width depending on the tree's diameter, and an angle of at least 70° is cut into the front of the tree - this aims the tree.

A bore cut is then created behind this notch by plunging the chainsaw straight into the tree.
