And I was not one handing. But I broke a rule. I was reaching up and slicing a vertical limb to free fall in close quarters. It came back slightly and my reflexes took my left hand off the saw. But somehow my forearm hit the running chain in an instant. It was not a big branch just bushy ( mango tree ). It jumped me. I feel that the tip of bar caught in tge branch and was pushed toward my left forearm.

3 viens and 1 small artery cut. But no tendons and no bone damage. Fully functional. Sharp chain with run on and soft flesh are no match.

Looks like a nasty one. Hope you heal quickly. Thanks for posting that isn't something that readily comes to mind as a possible way to hurt oneself. I'll try to look out for the possibility.

Was cutting above my chest. In a tight quarters. Broke one of my rules. Was a small cut and drop removal. Salami cut on vertical branch. As I finished the cut, the branch shifted and started coming towards me slightly. I took my left hand off the saw reactively to push branch. Somehow it either touched the tip of saw and pushed it left towards my arm or branch caught my arm and pushed it towards the still spinning chain. My flashbacks tell me the latter. It happened in tge blink of an eye.

Yea, gravity is fast. I would imagine it impossible to be able to register the difference between the branch contact and the simultaneous chain contact, and all the brush scraping past.

Shit happens man. Could have been much worse. Instead you have some scars, stories, and a posteriori knowledge.

Yes I was up a tree. On a RRpro. Blood was gushing. So I stowed saw and removed lanyard one handed. And swung out the tree. It was short 30' to ground. All calmly.

Sorry you are going through this bruv. I've done much worse to myself, so your are gonna be allright. Take the time to properly heal up and you will be back to your badass self pronto mi amigo.
