thanks for the tip! It's got a Cummins 4bt 110hp; it's an '05 but low hours since it was owned by a campground its whole life except the first year.

Yep. Tool boxes are cool, but the extra cab is really great if you pop the back seats and put in a shelfy thingy.that would make lots of useable space.

When I visited Japan and worked with @SoftBankHawks , I got to meet lots of young climbers that mostly drove sub-compact boxy cars. The vehicles looked pretty normal on the outside, but open a door and they had everything in there but the kitchen sink!

I sure found it to be a great capability when I first started shooting into the back of my F350

I’ve been seeing several of these chippers pop up this winter for around this price range with around 500 hours.

What do you guys think about this price range/machine for a small scale pruning operation?

Small chippers can be indispensable in my area, they can be moved very easily with a mini or other machine, sometimes even in to the woods.
I havent used the BC700 but if its ANYTHING similar to the 625 run away very very fast.
The absolute best small chipper I have ever used is a Bandit 75 with all the bells and whistles. Super capable for its size and enough HP with the larger engine option.

I just chip into my regular long bed, 3-3.5 yards of chips is a lot of brush.

I have an insert with 3 foot added sides on a F350 that holds 6 yards - more if I do a Conestoga Wagon set up with schedule 40 pvc to hold a tarp up high.

The only thing I would do differently if I were to do another set up like that is go with a stainless steel version that is offered. Mine has rusted through in spots over 25 years of use by the coast.

This is going back ten years ago, but this is what I did with the hoist of my dump insert, my BC935, and an old beaver tail trailer. It freed up the truck bed for smaller rounds of wood and what not. This is a screenshot from a video that I found. The chipper eventually got painted a nice orange and the box was rebuilt out of aluminum. A friend bought it and It still runs strong to this day. There is also a nice aluminum truck cross box mounted to the trailer tongue for gear and goodies.

Stainless would be good, mine is aluminum which I like very much but with heavy loads it flexes a lot. That and the tail gate vibration is wearing the hinge (hooks) away.
It’s severed me very well, and I would be hard pressed to part with it.
They can also be slapped onto a flatbed trailer frame for a small dump trailer.

It’s pretty sweet. Autonomous chipping with the safety element of a curb-side in-feed. The overall build wasn’t too challenging, but it has to be the right mix of components and weight distribution.

That’s been posted awhile. Started at 17k. Texted with the guy a bit; sounds legit. It’s a rental unit that wasn’t seeing enough use. I thought about it for some time, but decided to go larger.

Next island job that needs a chipper we’re renting the 6” tracked Carlton. If it’s awesome and a bigger job arrives I may grab one. Getting the 8k lb chipper out and back is so stressful.
