Climbers for Christ

Its not for me to answer for God.. me personally No I don't wonder why you "want no part of this gibberish"... I wonder why your here to chat on internet about something you say you don't believe in , i think a little piece might look around at Gods creation that you see and live in and are thinking... maybe...
To me, my life I've learned God is good all the time and all the time God is good. I've had plenty of my own share of hard times i think i didnt deserve at the time and committed plenty of sinful acts... God gave mankind freewill in this world. So do how you want , think what you want , Maybe saying small minded was offensive to you , im sorry i said that cause i don't think that's right, from what i can tell your all very intelligent and have knowledge beyond mine, but I think I see some are wrestling with their faith and journey in life, that's why they visit a thread Climber For Christ. It's cool,, Do you, were not bad folks at least on this forum sitting here from what I see I love everyone on here , even though the feelings may not be mutual and thats OK by me. I have as many atheist friends as believers in my life away from the internet, so your not gonna offend me or shake my faith in God. Being a follower of Christ is tough and enduring hardship and tough times happen to all people, so no I don't think it brought Doc joy what happened to merle.. maybe God helped his pain , helped him grow as an individual human being , just trying to live his life and endure the hardness this world can send on anyone. I believe he's up in Heaven with Merle right now picking a tune!
You make a valid point: It's absolutely just and worthwhile for believers to share and enjoy this Climbers for Christ forum, and the rest of us should respect your reasons and rights to do so. I think it becomes difficult for some of us (and thus becomes much harder for us to ignore) when we stumble in here to find opinions expressing how we unbelievers are damned--according to your beliefs.

That, logically, leads me to doubt that religious folks are able to perceive the rest of us as equals, as I see your premonitions of our eternal damnation (and your own eternal bliss) as being just as detrimental to equality as any other form of discrimination, black/white, rich/poor, educated/ignorant, saved/damned. In other words, it's easy for me to imagine "saved" folks sitting around joking (and worrying) about how much the rest of us are going to suffer on your special day.

And my perceptions (fears) of that inequality feel all the more justified when those belief differences begin to affect government regulations; women's right to choose or postpone parenthood; healthcare for non-Christians (and actual Christians who are deemed not acceptable), and what we can learn in school. Stay well.

For all who are willing to share their beliefs, what do you believe about Jesus? Did he exist? If so, who or what was he?
What resonates with me about the story of Jesus is how championing of the poor, his message of love and peace and acceptance. It has been a long time since I sat down with any scripture but that was always my takeaway.

I can't answer for others or read between the lines about me ? saying your eternally damned for not believing in god? I think God's plan will encumbered us all in heaven through christ all things are possible whether or not you would believe that or not I don't mind , much love brother

Grace, hope, above all love is what Jesus offers
Perhaps when he was alive, but religious institutions succeeding him may or may not offer any of it. For me, I mostly felt confused and outcasted for questioning the history and teachings as a young child in a Catholic school. Priests and nuns would usually default to saying I needed to have faith. It's an strange depressing position to be in while your young mind is developing and all your friends/schoolmates seem to have no issue being followers. At the end of the day, actions speak louder than words and love is contagious. Let's spread the love and stop pushing ideologies on people.

I’m gonna throw some kindling on this and ask what does spreading love look like to you?

I think spreading love looks like taking care of folks around you who need help, being generous with your time and energy. Truly getting to know people, championing them through their struggles, and being compassionate through their mistakes.

I didn’t realize this until recently, but loving yourself above all, through and through, is a prerequisite for truly loving others. So I hope everyone is also working on that!

I could probably elaborate if I think about it but this is a great summary that I genuinely agree with.

It was brillant for God to choose the Greek language for the majority of the gospel. The Greek language has very specific words for love depending on the kind of love expressed. God showed us Agape Love

It would really be brilliant if the people who fabricated the tale used a language other than their own.

Greek was the "lingua franca" at the time that the books of the New Testament were written.
The development of the alphabet and its intimate connection to Hebrew (Old Testament) is a fascinating subject.

edit: to try to spell fascinating.

I believe God puts us all in the circles of people, coworkers, and friends for a purpose. My purpose happens to be spreading the news that Jesus wants to have a relationship with You! I recently discovered a personal relationship with the Creator about 1 year ago. Be advised! this is not a ploy for money, an ad for a specific church, or a scam. I'm trying to start a website / blog / newsletter.....not sure yet, about how Christ and treework are so very much alike. If you would be interested in receiving such emails or know of someone who would, or want to know more about the Man who created the trees we climb everyday. Shoot me your e-mail, tell a friend, and like this thread. Peace.
Praise the Lord! Before I knew Jesus I was lonely and lived without hope. I was ready to give up. Then the Lord put me back in contact with my birth mother. She told me to believe in God because he is a good father and provides for his children. So I said I'll believe it if he can give me a wife in 30 days. 30 days later I came home from work as lonely as ever and upset I had gotten my hopes up over the world's oldest fairytale..... But then the phone rang. My mom had given a girl my phone number in Portland and told her to call me because she was going to be my wife. Sure enough she called and we talked all night long. A few days later we were engaged. Since then the King has delivered me from alcoholism, pornography, and many other sins. Most importantly he has given me hope and a purpose to use this life to do what my mother did for me. To tell others the good news that the righteous King has taken back his creation and wants each and every person to turn from thier sins and enjoy dominion over this earth with him.

So mommy found you a girl, and after a few phone calls, you decided to marry her? Yep, it sure sounds like Jesus really help you sort your shit out?

This has made imprint permagrin on my face for the day , thanks Dylan for sharing.
I thought exactly like Rico too and I laughed at his post at first in my head, but God is great indeed and has the ability to change anyone in an instant in time. If I hadn't seen and been around highly unlikely circumstances in an intellectual way that seem preposterous many times over, but that's the power of which makes me fall in love with the Lord again and again.
Gordon thank you as always for what you bring to the table this was a good reminder for me as I have a terrible relationship with my moms she's a struggling addict on serious downward spiral ,but your right don't underestimate their power , she gave everything to give me life and always did her best to raise me up right before i skipped town at 15 and a half and I'm gonna call her right now 1800 miles away and hopefully make her day better!
