Had a good challenge yesterday, a ~65' top hung up in other 2 trees, with the butt of the broken top being around 90' up. Luckily there was a 150' fir next to it all for safe access, and I was able to use that and redirects to come down on this mess from above and cut it free. Careful work, having to move on, around and under such a piece while staying safe, watching how it shifts and keeping my rope away from it most of the time if it were to unexpectedly fall. Removed a lot of limbs with my 2511T, bucked wood off it with the 400C and eventually got the top hanging about straight downward, held by a single 8" limb, which was then undercut to trip the whole thing and let it fall to the ground.

Just doing my job, but this was a more interesting one than usual

I did have my ground guy with me (in the last photo) but he just swapped saws at one point and kept watch. Then drug brush of course at the end.

Should probably add that they were climbed due to transmission lines just out of shot in most of the pics. The trees that were climbed had potential to hit or go inside safe approach, so they were climbed high enough to where they wouldn’t hit or we had another lay we could fell the head into.

It’s a Mitsubishi Triton, not sure if there is a US version of that?
Fairly common here as a fleet 4WD, pretty cheap.

Must say dude nice idea. Also want to give you credit for encouraging me, a while back, to use my skiddie to stand up pieces instead of the GRCS. Way more control than cranking on the device.

That’s not too bad considering the Arbor Trolley weighs 83 lbs (if memory serves) with a capacity of 1,100 lbs. Yours is not super heavy but almost 4x capacity.

Maybe you could weld up and ship some frames. Let the buyer worry about the wheels which can be found easily on Amazon or Northern Tool or at Tractor Supply.

Did you leave drain holes in the bottom of your uprights? And what did you use for tires? They look like the front tires off of a front wheel assist compact tractor

Ask a few questions! Lol I did not leave a weep just because it’s stored under roof, but yes that did cross my mind. I even thought about making them big enough for debris but being a first off.. learning curve. But then I had concerns of the uprights being strong enough for the abuse I want it to take. So beef won out.
These tires I borrowed from my stumper as the rims are the same. 5 on 4.5. The tires are from Fleet Farm same with the rims and those should be back from being foam filled Tuesday. I have a feeling that the rims will be the weak point but time will tell. Rim size is 8x9 roughly. They are three quarters inches shorter and 1.5” wider than the tires shown and a turf pattern. More floatation the be better. The pics are from a lot clearing three days after 1/2” of rain in forest floor dirt minimal rutting. I have a feeling on a lawn it would not be noticeable, but time will tell.
The rims are rated for 3500lbs or there about, spindles and hubs are 2000lbs each. The axel is 2x2x1/4” tube and the rest is 1.5”x1.5”X 3/16” tube. Handle is 1.5”x1.5”x1/8” tube plus some black pipe that was floating around the shop, unknown size. One inch maybe.
