Rope Runner

Glad your digging the Runner dsptech. Ive been doing a run of good sized Fir removals lately and have been using the Runner. It is so buttery smooth and easy like Sunday morning that I found myself stopping to laugh at just how good this device really is.
Exactly.

Was never brought to market I guess? Shouldn’t be much work to make it look different, but improving the performance would be a tougher nut to crack. I recently bought a used one, earlier build from CMI, and might have 10 hours of use with one, but so far, I love it. I’ll change to a bearing pulley on it eventually which might be a teensy bit smoother, but it’s pretty perfect really.

I do love me some curves! Very cool to see that, thanks for posting it!

I just got a rope runner (just before the news about the rope runner pro) and used it today for the first time. It was flattening my yale 11.7mm rope quite a lot. Am I doing something wrong, or is that just part of mechanicals? Also, if it is okay, should I use my zig zag on a separate rope or will it perform the same on a flattened rope?

It will flatten your rope a little. I don't have a zigzag but a couple trips through a friction hitch will smooth it out. I would think the zig zag would perform as normal.

And they need to make the pin longer I tried to make my own but the pin is to short now can’t have both teeth engaged the older ones I think the pins were little longer cuz I’ve seen pic with 2 of the Tending plates one on each side and a piece of string across but mine I can’t fit two plates on it?

I wish I can find the Company that they use to make the pins and order some the size I want. I have found places to order them online but they only have 1 tooth like the pin on the rope “wrench” but not the 2 teeth like the pins on the runner or Quickies

maybe someone like Richard m or Kevin b might know and feel like share if the info

The rope is not permanently flattened, it will be fine with the Zig-Zag.

So I've been shopping for a rope runner lately, and I've got to say that the colors currently available are offensively bad. I don't care too much about how gear looks, but I care a little, and the "jubilee" color scheme is just so so ugly. I actually ordered a RR from Gap thinking it was plain orange/black, but ended up recieving the jubilee one and I'm sending it back. The only other option I can find is the "splatter" one from sherrill, which is slightly better, I guess, but still not remotely sophisticated looking.

I'm just frustrated that they've taken such a cool looking thing and made it so uncool looking for absolutely no reason. Cause I don't want to spend 350 dollars for something that looks like it was made by a seven year old, instead of like a gadget I trust my life to while wrecking massive trees.

Is this stupid and conceited? Yeah. Am I wrong though?

I've got an orange/black/silver I'll sell you. Barely used. $250
