What’s your favourite lanyard set up

I only own ovals....CT Petzl or RE...prob 24....then 2 pirates for chainsaw lanyards....lets not even start that thread. I see so many chainsaw lanyard setups that would drive me insane.

I will weight that fucker and stretch that garbage cordage right out. Trust me. No disrespect but sterling makes only one good rope period. Most know it HTP.
Lol. I like trying different ropes and cords. I like the rit. Nothing wrong with scion for a yanyard, but I probably wouldn't like it for a climb line.
Here is is stretched out. The legs will never get longer no matter how many cycles it goes thru, therefore the sitback wouldn't get long. I don't care if the hitch itself stretches out a bit.

I like these little biners for lanyards. Keeps everything right in place.View attachment 62251
Oh.. i see.. you got the 9mm, i like that cordage.. I'm using that with my Hitch Hiker..
Just my experience with the pinto though.. I feel that anything bigger than 8mm eyes causes things to get tight inside of it. Especially in that ddrt configuration you were talking about. The eyes end up pinching the cordage between the sheave. I know you said it's great, I'm not down playing that or raining on your parade as it is indeed a great setup... I'm just saying, take a peek at it next time you have it loaded up like that & if you have a 8mm i2i, give it a try & you'll notice the difference in friction. Just hook it up drt & pull the tail, you'll see what I'm referencing.

Id really like to try that 10.5 ring rope.. i think it would be a better match for me & enable me to use 8mm hitches on lanyards with cover slack sewn into them.

The beeline above is 26" but on 10.5. I have used RIT. Gave them away. Grabby mofos. Those three wraps will lock up like a mofo for me. Lanyards I am a 2 wrap cat. Throw another wrap is trouble.

My lanyard never leaves my lower d's. Upper d's are for people with no balance or core strength.
Hello my upper D's are for storage. Not climbing around with a lanyard on my lower D's. They are for suspension. Now I am.laughing like a mofo. No balance core strength.... I am 52 most 40 years old can only dream of being as fit as I am....with their ponches.....I do not know what more core or balnce I need for this crane pick.....10K plus and 880 with 4' bar....lower Ds....lol... no pansy climber here.....

It is tight. To be clear also, I haven't used this setup in a tree yet. After a week of climbing on it, my opinion could change.

You show em' Swing.. ;)
Mingya, shit gets derailed so easy but i gotta ask after seeing picture..
I know this may be subjective to personal preference but, the boots your wearing in that picture.. In all honesty, how do you feet feel after standing in spurs all day.. I've always been under the impression those were pretty flexy & maybe not the best for allday spur work?

If there was any discomfort, was it something you just got used to over time & just sucked it up..

Or... You never noticed any discomfort with them on spurs at all..? Just a normal walk in the park..

I'm dying to get out of these 10lb loggers.. their like fucking anchors.. but.. have steel shanks & are comfortable to "stand" in.

I have high arches and strong feet. Walked barefoot all my life. My feet are always earthed. If spurs are adjusted correctly and not too tight cutting off circulation most hiking boots work for me. Again this is a physiology thing. People with flat feet and low arches will have a different experience. Might need way more support.

Thanks for the update..
I believe this ^^^^ is where alot of people go wrong & end up getting bad experiences with said boots or even equipment.. theyll go super tight & not even realize it's the root cause of their pain..

Regardless, Im picking up what your putting down.. it makes total sense.

Because everyone else was posting pictures and I didn't want to be left out, here's the lanyard configuration I usually use. It works quite well and smoothly, even when I unhook one end and make it into a mini DdRT line when a redirect isn't nessicary. I keep a little prusik in my dirty bag for when I want it, but I didn't bother with a thimble.

Can i inquire as to why you went with 10mm ocean instead of 8, considering the pulley u wanted to use? Also curious as to how them pintos run with the cordage outside like that.. does the eye not constantly slide down on you?

I tried the whole 10mm + Pinto thing.. the cordage size was great for me, but not so much for the Pinto, i ended up with a Rig to make it work how i wanted.. I didn't however, try it like you have it..

I went with 10mm ocean because I like the way it works with 16 strand line, and I like 16 strand for lanyards. 8mm just doesn't work as smooth and reliably. As far as the configuration, I haven't had issue with the eyes moving even once. For one, between the knots and the stiff, spliced portion of the cordage there really isn't much wiggle room. I can work the eye around, but it does take a little bit of effort. Second, the eyes are nice and tight on the biner. Between those two factors, they haven't moved as of yet. I had thought I might have to put some rubber on either side, but nope....they are behaving just fine
