There was only 1 other guy with a mecanil on their effer for me to consult with in 2017 (now allmark has got his going as well)
effer at the time advised against the grapple saw on the k-boom, then said they could do it with the gmt then changed their mind and quit responding back. At the time i was under the understanding that the altec setup which was not available yet would not have the ability to hold it vertical. There is many circumstances I'm in where i make a horizontal cut but need to make it between wires and roof and am grateful that i can tilt it with a load (small) to a vertical position to clear my obstacles!
Palfleet, a palfinger dealer ended up doing the install for me in the end. My experience with the Mecanil was a game changer. I think effer booms are great but altec/effer have a lot to catch up to palfinger if your trying to run a k-boom with a grapple saw.
