Compact Bulldog Bone

Glad you like the adjustable Bulldog Bone, I hope it serves you well, saving you time and energy.

How do you like my new tending ring?
The ring works very well, however, I prefer the hole in the main body because I wasn't crazy about the ring being on top. Although it didn't give me any problem being there, I just like the more streamlined original tending hole.

Coming soon, a symmetrical spine for the Bulldog Bone.
(spring of 2020)

It's currently 2018. In less than a month, it will be 2019. are you saying we have to wait another 16+ months for the spring of 2020? Or was that an error and you meant the spring of 2019 which is in 4ish months?

In which case, SOON (for the 2020 date) would not be the appropriate word in my book.

It is my hope that it will provide a longer wear life due to the "bump" on the wear side facing the rope. Also once one side wears, the spine can be reversed to wear on the opposite side of the "bump". It may be my imagination, but the symmetrical spine seems to provide a wee bit more grip on the rope at the lower arm, allowing the top arm to release even nicer. Also the concave side of the spine allows the attach point (teardrop or swivel) to pivot about 1mm further as the Bone is tended on ascent, while still engaging without any spring in the system.

I had been running my bulldog with quite a worn out spine for quite some time (pic 1). It started to slip worst and worst on my Yale 11.7 climbing line as time went by. Recently got a new spine from Gordon and it has worked great. Just like he said, I have noticed that the shape of the new spines creates a bit more friction on the lower end, which makes the upper end to release a fair bit smoother. No more slippage.

To be fair, coming from such a worn out spine, anything was going to feel better. Tending is still perfect so the new shape hasn't changed that aspect. And now I can flip the spine when I wear it out. So far so Good. Thanks Gordon
