Shotline Winder Throwline?

So I have this Shotline Winder, though I can't seem to remember what the actual Throwline is that's on it - Can anyone figure it out for me?

The throwline is just the same orange colour as the one in this photo.

Thanks

Thank you both.

I found some new yellow Zing It - so I compared it to the orange line on the Shotline - it looked the same size and construction, and felt identical in the hand - so that's what I think it is (or something very close to it).

If you decide you don't have a use for that winder I would be interested in buying it.

I was going to say Zing It or Fling It is what Jim loaded those with too. I can't understand how people did not clamor to have more of those produced so each company could have multiples of them. (Think there are only 300 in existence in the world.)They make high shots so much easier.

Thanks all again.

I won't consider selling the Shotline Winder until I ever have the chance to compare it with a cube in work situations side by side.

I was really surprised to see no one really sells them anymore... The worst I could say of it was that the slight friction of the line feeding off the reel could slightly hold it back on the bigger shots... Apart from that, I think it's such a useful little thing, and all the throw cube manufacturers (and throw cube users) are missing out on a trick. Before I bought it - I saw throw cube line get tangled during the throw - I bought it to avoid that.

I have read up a bit on past posts regarding it's development. Sure, people may have thought it was just an over priced fishing line of sorts - but they mightened have realised that the design and selection of the reel was crucial to it working as intended - and it seems so much work was put into that to make it work as best as possible.

I thought about selling it in the past... That was until I saw they stopped selling them (because I too was guilty of dismissing it as an overpriced fishing reel) ... I wouldn't get one so easy again, and then I read up on the efforts to develop/select the design. I won't part with it now, not until I've at least had time with a cube in work to compare.

It's a shame you can't get it now (at least off Treestuff) - everyone loses when we have less choice.

I've been an online friend of Jim for ~15 years. I had the privilege to meet him, in person, at JAMBO, last weekend. Good times!

Glad to hear Jim is still around. Miss his development efforts and posting about same - thanks for sharing that JB.

The Chainmeister and bolt down to a board chainsaw vise that he was some part of are great tools too.

It seemed to me the online community's whining and complaining chewed him up pretty good and spit him out. (We should all pat ourselves on the back for that and do it to more inventors and innovators - heavy sarcasm intended.)

Thanks all again.

Tell me where to send you a free cube.......:)....I'm just kidding. Hold on to that and guard it like your youngest child. When I was going through the learning curve of first using that winder I wound the throwline on too tight and one high shot I launched the winder up 20 feet it the air. It broke when it came down. Seeing it's benifits over a cube and knowing there were only 300 from Jim at that time I bought more. I now have two in service, one saved as parts, and about six new in storage. I would never want to work without one again.

I regularly bigshot up to 100 plus feet with it. Much over a 100 I would use a fishing line reel for the shot then the reel for shotline management, then install the rope. Can't remember the last time I tangled line.
