Is this common on the east coast - it seems homeowners pay to clear dead, dying, or prune in their wooded lots or open spaces?

Out here, unless it is fire clearance, near a structure or parking area, or utility, it dies, falls, and rots where it is

Picture doesn't show the house is to the left and would definitely have been struck if the rest fell it creaked and cracked while I was limbing and taking one top out. No to fun.

Three mulberry trees that grew up right against an irrigation pump shed... they twisted together and grafted, making one ugly tree that should have been cut down when it was still a sapling! It actually grew right into the shed, which we burned down. It was where you see the broken ground. We leveled that up a bit with a tractor and blade. Took out a bunch more of these weeds along the edge of the field so they can get their combine/tractor/etc. through there. Out grinding stumps, today. Starter went out on the grinder, so gotta fix that tomorrow. Nice day, but windy as hell.
