Show off them splices

You have probably already though of this, but if you put a carabiner in the adjustable eye you have a mid-line attachable and retrievable sling. Is that what you are using it for? I make mine from Ice.
This was made for one of my guys as a friction saver for conifers. The biner in the loop is a great idea though. Going to have to steal that one.

True. What I dont understand is the throat of the splice, is it a locking brummel. I'm new to this splicing stuff.
Thanks

In response to your question,
1) measure your burial tail
2) calculate the amount of line for your
3 Brummells
3) measure the circumstances for the X
Rings that you'll be using
4) add the 4 lengths that you will use
for the line through line, roughly
6-8" between the X Rings and
the triple Brummell
5) taper 1/3-1/2 of your burial tail
6) put extreme tension on the X Rings
and the long tail to remove all of the
excess tension from the rig
7) bury the short tapered tail right
after the triple Brummell, and milk
Any slack out
8) whip stitch and if you want apply
heat shrink over whipping, if you
want to
I hope this helps you with how to assemble a Double Ring Rigging Sling.
Best of luck and take your time!

I'm glad my thread is still alive. I do have a confession......I have not spliced in a couple of years. I made my last set of gear, which i don't use often, and that what that. Good looking stuff guys!
Why the no splice? ...... I'm just beginning :D
