Fu*%face Von Clownstick

Read the whole thread before characterizing myself and probably others. Valid points and counter-points have been made.

I have the flu, I'm out. Carry on.

Trump. Not a fan of him but I sure as hell didn't vote for that blood thirsty war monger, minority exploiting ass faced bitch.

Have to chime in because I hope trump does do some good things and is kept in check on the other crazy things he stands for. The problem I have with him is how the country's level of respect for each other is dropping and people feel statements like the above are ok to broadcast .......

Form your opinion how you so chose, but we're talking about someone that I feel is personally one of the lowest forms of human life on the planet.

I have respect for the current POTUS, as well as Bernie Sanders and a small amount for just about any of the other candidates. Certainly enough that I'd just say "they're not my choice for xyz reason", but her, she's nearly subhuman in my opinion.

Her level of respect for those that disagree with her is pretty much what mine is of her. The only difference is that I'm not on TV and worried about the fallout should I say what I feel.

Thank you for calling me out though.
It's not a lack of respect for the other side as much as it is more one individual.

You want to turn it into somethat that it isn't.

Am I supposed to respect everyone? I certainly do until they give me a reason not to. Particularly someone that I feel
is only one small step above a pedophile on the level of how low I feel someone is.

Regardless, though, thank you for taking the time to point my post out and painting a broad brush over something that really isn't. I don't feel that way about the whole party, just one individual.

I didn't even vote straight ticket either but I guess that doesn't matter because I don't respect, and used choice words, for that party's number 2 individual.

I get your frustration Justin. I am very frustrated by specific people as well. It was just the blatant disrespect that I fear is going to be what does not let us work together to get through this. I am afraid trumps immaturity, disrespect etc etc (shown in his constant tweets) is going to make people think that being inconsiderate, disrespectful, sexist, rude, racist etc is ok. I mean seriously, have you seen what he is asking for an apology for from the Hamilton play???

Anyone who thinks a genuine request delivered in respect like this needs an apology has some serious issues.

FRom the actor at Hamilton:

“Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you, and we truly thank you for joining us here at ‘Hamilton: An American Musical.’ We really do,” Dixon said to further applause. “We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir. But we truly hope this show has inspired you to uphold our American values and work on behalf of all of us. All of us. Again, we truly thank you truly for seeing this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds and orientations

A Welcome, a hope For inspiration, a thank you... and he demands an apology?!?!?!? WTF!!!!

Hate crimes and related vandalism. Certainly paid for thought up by DNC rich celebrity liberals.

No, just psycho hillbillies and crackers.
I put up this post up in hopes of starting an intellectual discourse rather than an emotional one. As I unfortunately expected, it was promptly met with the latter. Perhaps I should explain my position more clearly.

When some one of Jewish faith, or in my own case some ancestry, sees things like this in NY, the immediate response is that of righteous anger. This is oftentimes soon superseded by a visceral and spine chilling terror. In this day and age...

When people of eastern European and Baltic origins hear something to the effect of "Maybe this NATO arrangement isnt in our best interests", thoughts of the monstrous Stalin and also Khrushchev immediately come to mind. Of course it has been speculated that Trump had no clue as to the existence and absolute necessity of Section 5 of the Washington Treaty. Perhaps you should speak to someone such as my father who was old enough to remember the tanks rolling into Budapest. Perhaps, not likely, but perhaps he would also tell you the harrowing tale of fleeing to Austria and burying my Great Uncle in a shallow grave at twilight near the border. He succumbed to tuberculosis.

These tales passed on to me have certainly shaped my decision NOT to vote for Trump. As a fiscal conservative but also a sicial liberal, I refuse to toe any party line and instead make my vote basedbon trying to be as well informed as possible. This vote however was also selected based on emotion and gut feeling.

I understand the concern and appreciate the last post @baumeister .

Im not his biggest fan, I do believe he was the better choice of the two realistic ones we were given.

I do think, however, that the vast majority of garbage that came out of his mouth was a direct action to get the voters off their couches, that didn't vote in the previous elections. I dont think for one minute he's sincere with the "bad" stuff he said, not the good either lol, but merely used words to get votes from a large demographic, that normally lies silent, because he knew he probably wouldn't pull many of the "usual suspects" from their party allegiance.

That said, I think he's after the notoriety of being president. As a billionaire, what else could he want? Sad that it still doesnt scare me as much as she did. I respect your opinion though, and appreciate the dialog that comes along with it.

I think he's got about as many republican values as the pecan trees in my back yard.

Again, I probably shouldnt have worded what I did, how I did, in my original post, but it's certainly not a blanket statement of hatred for the whole party, just one individual that I absolutely despise.

I find this very interesting, and would love to hear more at some point. My step mother, had a postcard hanging on the wall next to family photos. One day I asked about it, because it was just a photo of a house sitting in a field. It was her family's home, in Austria, and it was overtaken by the German's. She also had a random broken chunk of concrete on top of the fridge, this was a piece of the Berlin wall.

My step grandmother escaped from behind the Iron curtain at the age of 14, and became a nurse in the war. When Bush 2.0 was running she made a point to pull me aside at a family gathering to speak to me. In her still thick accent she told me to always have a backup plan, and not to be afraid of fleeing when necessary. Thank god she passed away long before this current election, it would be too much for her to live through again.

Folks who live through such things tend to be skeptical of all forms of authority and are prone to "looking over their shoulder."

The use of NATO as an instrument of US imperial policy to threaten Russia imperils our continued existence. Its disbanding would be an unequivocal blessing to humanity.

I don't need to tell them anything. undoubtedly there exists elements in those countries that hate Russia and Russians.

The USSR is gone. It voluntarily relinquished control of the Warsaw pact countries.

The people of the Ukraine elected a government that favoured Russia over the US despite at least a decade of US interference in their domestic politics.

Shortly thereafter, the US backed an illegal overthrow of the democratically elected government by neo Nazi ultanationalists and corrupt oligarchs.

The Ukraine is now in a civil war and a failed state.
Good job NATO?

I don't know the specifics of the others .

Hamilton thing was bs imagine if everywhere he went someone called him out like that. The crowd even booed him. "Alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us" kinda puts him on the spot right there.

hamilton thing was bullshit. Stay in your lane broadway. Pence is a boss who is unimpressed by your opinion. He's paying to be entertained not put on the spot. Imagine if everywhere he went he was given a speech like that.

When I was in high school, RHS '72, I had a subscription to Hot Rod magazine.

In the April '72 issue 'Big Daddy' Don Garlits wrote an article related to the war in Vietnam. A few issues befor he posed in his American flag themed fire suit next to his dragster flashing a peace sign

DG and Hot Rod received lots of letters because of this. Lost subscriptions. Got some support for their stance. What does politics have to do with drag racing?

Sometimes the reality of politics spills out of the political arena into places that make us squirm During this past political season there has been way too much spillage. This will continue

Freedom of Speech is one of our most valuable rights in my book. The government cannot be allowed to strong arm this type of dissent

I'll do a shot of Original Green Death Formula NyQuil to that. Capital N, small y, big fn Q. I love that Q. The Q is talkin to me the Q is talkin to me... D. Leary.

Flu bugs suck.

And so free speech in this land SHALL NOT be impeded. Even this guy has his say...

Agreed! I didn't buy any goods at Expo but I brought home a case of flu for the past week. And I did get a flu shot. Should I get a refund?!

So do you believe the Hamilton scenario is over spillage or a valuable example of free speech?

Perhaps he was referring to political talk spilling over into areas such as entertainers, athletes, tree forums etc. Some spillage is a good thing for sure. Examples include the US sprinters at 68 Olympics, numerous SNL skits over the years etc. However, some with an opposing view often bang the drum for "this isnt the time or place" or "why should I see this crap in a sporting event."
