Climbers for Christ

all theology and history whether perceived or factual aside consider the pure mathematical probability of your exisistance and then give me a more plausible explanation as to how we all came to be here sharing this reality together.

No one walking though a desert would, after seeing a pocket watch laying in the sand think, "I wonder how that evolved?" We automatically recognize it as having an intelligent designer. This world is full of amazingly complex creatures that we can't even come close to duplicating and yet some people think that there is no God. Darwin himself had a hard time believing that the eye could evolve. Here is an article on the complexity of the eye https://answersingenesis.org/charles-darwin/darwin-vs-the-eye/
Read Romans 1:18-20 and you will see that men are without excuse.

I recommend the book "Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell to anyone who questions the resurrection of Christ.

I think that there is a lot of confusion over what Faith is. Faith is not something we conjure up in ourselves it is a gift from God. (Ephesians 2:8-10) Faith comes from hearing God's Word (Romans 10:17)

Sorry to see Creationism rear it's ugly, ignorant head.

If Creationism were a tree it could be said to be suffer from advance root and trunk decay.

Really people...I just got off the phone with a friend of mine, and mentioned this thread to him. I said how interesting it was to finally hear people (believers and non-believers) have interesting conversations about Christ.....once again this thread was not intended to prove the existence or lack there of, of Jesus. But I am once again disappointed to see fellow believers hurting the cause. If some of you want to have deep conversations about the Christ send me or the member in question a private message. If some of you have opinions.....well, that's your opinion. There is nothing more frustrating than having a "Christian" spout off about what "they think" or what they "think happened". If a true believer gets a response like this... "And this right here is why I hate religion. There is no acceptance, only persecution; no tolerance, only bigotry; no open-mindedness, only xenophobia. All while hiding behind a book." If that's someone's response to your conversation! You've lost it! not to mention anyone who talks to them....One of the best pieces of advice I've received about being faithful is this.....Don't be afraid to apologize for the actions of other Christians. It's much like the tree care professional who works in a rural area, where everyone has a chainsaw and a tractor (much like my area operation). These people hire your services, but when you get there say, "yea I would've taken care of this but...." or "what you makin that notch for?!? just yank it over" or with the 100' oak tree, "I'd like to see it only about as high as the house." They have all the answers with no supporting facts or training. Worse yet we are all making these statements while hiding behind our keyboards and devices. So be it. I'm as guilty as anyone. So I challenge both the non-believer and the believers to do your research before jumping on my fellow arborists (you know the reason were all on this sight) and lets engage in meaningful conversation at the workplace, at home or where ever. It's easy to sit in your underwear and chat about faith, it's not easy to take on tough questions, challenging answers, and engage people in the real world......all the while hanging from a rope. So please, send me some e-mail addresses so I can get C for C off the ground!

No need to apologize for me. I love all people. Sometimes it is better to not quote scripture as that leads to the thought process of beating someone over the head with the bible. Especially when said parties don't like or are in active opposition to anything coming out of it. I can tell the truth from my experiance though. They tell their version of the truth I tell mine. Intolerance comes in all forms. I wouldn't have posted on this thread of not for the active disrespect and intolerance of some members of this site. Somehow I thought my personal relationship outside of this forum would bring a little more respect. Instead it has feed the monster though, I don't mind debating faith. I do not like "liberals" hiding behind the flag of "tolerance" and demanding that everything I believe in is a flying spaghetti monster. That is intolerance and cruelty. These United states were formed on the core freedoms of religion and taxation both are in the shit pot now a days.

Why would you want to limit to only one religion your idea of getting religious people together for arboriculture?

You do know that there are Christians who believe evolution and the bible have no conflict.

Why spout creationism when the best of evidence shows humans evolved to be what we are today?

Seems you are missing out on a lot of 'truth'.

Personally I believe in intelligent design that manifested itself though evolution. Who am I to say how long a day is in Gods time? And with this I am bowing out fo real. Will start another thread tomorrow. You guys can come beat me up over there. Let these guys have their thread.

I have no problem with others having spirituality and beliefs, but I won't tolerate someone using those beliefs as a platform to attack others. As a non-believer I'm going to step out of this thread now as I have nothing to contribute to its original intent. Aaron, best of luck getting C for C off the ground.

Jeff a thread on intelligent design on an arborist forum would be just great!

Some of youse might find the article below to be thought provoking. Or not.
I don't know if it will link to the actual article, so if not, just c&p it to your browser.
Googling the author will also pull it up.
Written by a physicist; John Hartnett.

The United States was formed on a basis of freedom of and freedom from religion. Many of our founding fathers were deists.

I believe scripture would imply this; it is not yet his time to make justice...

Let me know when this is happening Jamin, I'm going to ask him why he insists on giving children cancer and no, I wont accept the excuse it's because he needs more angels.

Not so sure I agree with you on this aaronf. We're not supposed to know everything. As a matter of fact we can't even handle that knowledge.

As far as boomslang's question above, that has been answered very well in this thread already. If we can't even understand worldly things, how on earth are we supposed to grasp the intricacies of Heavenly ways?
And apparently there are a few here that only understand one language so unfortunately I feel obligated to speak to them on their terms. They don't want to listen to any proof at all and their goal is to steer as many away from God as they can.

"If anyone causes one of these little ones--those who believe in me--to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea."

And in reference to the question above; did you answer it? And through private message?
"Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins."

"...first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."

God made us different for a reason aaronf. He didn't create robots. Even Jesus tore up the temple when His Father's House was turned into a market.

how is the fossil record not observable evidence? this video is pretty lame. typical moronic approach from a Christian fringe that doesnt believe in the basic tenants of natural science. Many Christian denominations support modern science and the theory of evolution. I was raised Catholic and although am no longer practicing, am proud that the church has long embraced evolution. We as arborists are practicioners of science. The overwhelming majority of the worlds atheists, and believers understand the theory of evolution to be a basic fundamental of science.

if we are debating the merits of evolution versus creationism now, I am leaving this conversation. Dawkins was right. Arguing with young earth creationists is the equivalent of arguing with an inanimate object. Both are incapable of analytic thought process.
