What I got from your metaphor was that you applied your perception of reality to suit the point you were trying to make, in doing so you agreed with Treehumper's statement about perception being reality. Need I remind you that you claim to disagree with the statement "perception is reality"?
In your reality lighthouses are immovable objects, in mine they are in fact movable.

I really think your post is great and totally agree!!
