Well you folks are probably getting sick of my new camera but what the heck- Yesterday I went to Wolf Creek to ski with my buddy Tim from Window Pros window cleaning. They had gotten an amazing 31" out of this last pulse of moisture.
Afterwards I went to a ski birthday party at Ski Hesperus- 12 miles west of Durango. Night skiing goes from 5 until 9.
Here is an approach shot of the South San Juans.

Wolf Creek, although vertically challenged, is a classic family run Mom and Pop operation. There is a bunch of hike to terrain where you can ski powder for days after a storm.

Tim grew up in southern cal and it shows in his surfy style of riding.

Alberta Peak- about a 20 minute hike from the lift

Then it was off to Hesperus- another classic no frills hill. Some of the crew getting lubed up before skiing. The temp was hovering about 7 Fahrenheight

Retro ski suits are in at Hesperus. Suffice to say a good time was had by all.

let me just say this..........I am glad for the pics!! even when I work I keep a place like this in my head.knowing great places exist in the world is part of what keeps me going,knowing i will be visiting one of them soon is another big part. If I lived near you we would be hanging out for sure!!!

It's like you can read my mind....all the way from Colorado!

Just kidding. You have some amazing scenery to look at.

Me, I hate skiing. It's a good way to break a leg or catch pneumonia.


You can keep your snow, too.
