Yale Imori splice

Anyone work with this rope yet? Please share the wealth!

Just got our shipment in the other day, looks like pretty standard stuff, regular double braid construction. Shouldn't be to hard to work with, Yale makes a fine product.

Just did my first Imori splice. I had done blaze before and that went pretty smooth. This imori though took a whole lot more oomph, brute force and ignorance to get the cross over buried.

anyone put up an imori video yet?

Nick, I was just watching your blue moon video, part 1 but cannot find the second part. Was it ever posted?

I've seen the second video before, but recently could not find it myself.
The second video was the bury and he does it quite easily. He just uses the standard tricks. Great videos though. A newb should really pay attention to his stitching the crossover tip, it helped me out a bunch.

Yeah, I'd like to see the second half of that video too and have never been able to find it. What gives?

Old thread but I thought i'd post. Spliced this one today but the bury is such a pain! Anybody got any techniques on finishing the crossover bury? Snapping this rope seems to help little to none :(

@Eylar
Message the rope that has been buried. Bend it, roll it over a round edge, then anchor the splice end and pull on the cover towards the opposite direction of the splice. Repeat till complete.
This won't cause it to just slip right in, but it will help complete the bury little bit by little bit

As CutHigh said, massage it, hammer it with a rubber mallet and you can take an i2i and prussic it at the jam knoe and work the cover back toward the splice and snap it in. I have a piece of 3/8" steel rod that I slip into the eye when I snap that works well and keeps the eye from closing up too much.
