I don't think you should be stuck with the cost of these rings nor should you have another box of things you have to think about and have to deal with. You have more on your plate than any person should have to handle.

My intention is to alleviate some of your stress not to add to it. If you choose to totally ignore this email, or table it until you are ready I totally understand. It's an ocean of emotions. The days are like waves. You never know when the next wave of grief will hit and how strong it will be. I had many days it took all the energy I had to just live.

I will not bother you with another email. I just wanted to say we are all very sorry for your loss. If we can help, we'd be happy to. If there was money paid for the order (likely a few thousand dollars), I would like to send you that money and try to finish the project in Dave's memory. Take as much time as you need if you choose to respond.

On a personal note, I am so very sorry. Although our situations are completely different, to a large extent, I understand and hope you can find a moment of peace in each day.

It may be more complicated, but it would be rad to get "in memory of Dave" embossed or on the hard coat if the rings.

I had though of that but according to the timeline in this thread they were done some time last month and ready for shipping or had already shipped. I have Giorgio getting in contact with the manufacturer to find out what the status is. Lets say for the sake of argument I get this going again, depending on the price I may not be able to cover all the free shipping Dave had talked about for everyone. We'll see. I was looking at it and its maybe 2000 to 2400 for the rings and 1700 for shipping from the factory to Dave's. If he already got them and I need to pay for shipping from his place to mine..........you get the picture.

Damn, I wonder what happened, I remember him posting about some health issues but didn't seem major, back troubles or something to that effect. Dave was always a really nice guy here, as you all know.

Smart design. I always thought people overlooked the sharp bend radii of rings and TS's Aerial Friction Brake. I use my precessor, the BMS belay spool, and rings, for sure, but knew the bend radius was not optimal.

Looking at the website, there is shipping to Canada only. We're going to need someone to swim across and pick some up for us. Anybody have experience doing that sort of thing?

They look like they would be an excellent choice to use on a bridge, even though it says not for PPE.

If enough people are interested I'd be willing to put together a bulk order and send them South.

Considering a XL rigging ring is $60US ($75CAD) I dont think a $100 price tag is unrealistic for this product. Keep in mind it's only being made in small batches right now, so if demand went up and buddy could submit larger orders the price should come down a bit.

Agree with you that an added $135 for a sling is too much though.
