Working alone?

Sweet.
I have a Sena but I'd surely destroy my phone while working a tree.
Gonna charge them batteries up and see how far I can go.
Haven't paired my phone yet at all.

I text my mom or my wife when I'm doing dangerous things alone. I text a message that says "on rope 30 min" and that means that I'm on rope and if you don't see me text back within that timeframe, something is wrong and I need help.

I'll text 1hr normally, but if the situation calls for more caution, 15min or 30min.

That just let's me feel like I won't have to lay bleeding and/or unconscious for too long if an accident were to happen.

Great inspiration to keep things sweet with your wife and mom...

I do solo work sometimes. I think the biggest think is to absolutely not rush and be very thorough. I just have to get on my own time and be as cautious as a cat. @TallTreeClimber has a good approach to adopt though. I like having sena and make sure my cell is on me. Some jobs Aren’t practical for me to do solo and I avoid trying to rig anything substantial that way. In general surely not the safest practice but it feels like the best option sometimes.

I think I'll be rigging a 10" oak top whole, solo, tomorrow. I got this job under contract for a solo climb price - 3 trees, 1 day. Come to work late off another job site and the client has freshly landscaped (2 bird feeders, fountain, fresh mulch, irrigation, new shrubs...) under 2 of them... Got the one over the house down to spar in 2 hours by chucking small stuff a long ways - only had 1/2 the original drop zone... Next one I'm just rigging out the top from another tree, lowering it, dicing it up on the ground, and leaving a 25 ft. habitat spar. Sidelight, I descended mrt for first time without it being a crane job! Next thing you know I'll do something equally horrible, like learn a Blake's hitch.
