Work Photos

Cleanup is going to be a challenge. Doing the whole job from the start with a big crane seems like the best approach. Once it's on the ground you've got to cut it up so it can be moved by hand to carry off or just burn it on the island.

I love mine. Get a 10k, stabilizers and about 50’

Hard part is moving it around
I appreciate the recommendation. I pretty clueless so I’ll keep it in mind. It’d be nice to have something to move plus sized logs, and moving lumber on pallets. My ATX530 is a horse but can get over loaded pretty quick.

I ran across a guy in Fla on FB who uses a large articulated loader for bigger stuff as the articulated setup is easier on the grass, etc.

Both of my teles (this cat isn’t mine) are older 8ks and we got good to almost free deals on them. I’d be afraid to know how much that brand new CAT cost.

Random work photos from a cemetery job. It’s hard to get pictures and operate a k boom that needs 5 simultaneous inputs so there’s no action shots.

Also our new 40124 that we just got, that’s my good friend Dillion who operates it, I don’t climb anymore but I did get my shit out and take the first ride.

Sorry all the pics are sideways.

@evo Do you have suggestions on bolting small stems like that when frozen? Have a split tree lilac and small j maple that clients sent photos of from the last storm, wait till spring or bolt now?

With this one I tied it together with some scrap rope till I could get to it. I squeezed it in but was worried about potential snow load with the cheap hardware store rope the client had laying around.
If the split is fairly open and you plan on drawing it tight start with the lowest bolt and then once that’s tight draw the rope up more recheck and then drill one a decent ways above the union.

Mine was about 2.5” diameter above the union so my high bolt was about 6” above.

We have been freakishly warm with only about 3 mornings of frost on the windshield with high temps in the mid 40’s. I don’t have much experience with real cold as we rarely get into the mid 20’s. I’d just probably aim to do it if I were you.
