The HO was concerned about dead wood on the lower two limbs falling on his garage roof. I rigged them, cut them and let them hang, climbed down and cut them up before lowering the heavy part. There was no good place to anchor a speedline.

The tree was extensively damaged by fusiform rust cankers and sap leakage. I suggesting having it professionally removed, but the HO said he couldn't afford that. The property has several other trees with dead limbs or hanging and loose dead wood, so I'll probably be going back.

This poor oak had a tough life and then died. It started out too close to its neighbor, and the trunk constantly rubbed on the limb. Near the end the trunk had split open and fallen over so all the foliage was lying on the canopy below.

Fortunately, it was surrounded by high pines that leaned toward the work area. They provided nice TIPs for my climbing and positioning lines, and I was able to move around to cut it up from above and drop pieces with no damage to the canopy below.

That left the trunk which broke apart when felled. I'm glad I had decided beforehand that it wasn't something I wanted to tie off to. That rubbing wound on the trunk never got a chance to heal.

This was a new way of working for me and it worked out nicely. I was worn out and happy after making three climbs in one day.

There's a broken limb hanging down on the near side of the trunk. After getting a high TIP I moved the limb around enough to make sure it wasn't going to fall as I was climbing near it and removing some parts as I climbed. Then I climbed to where it was attached, rigged it, and lowered the rest down.

A big yard and a busted gate in the privacy fence meant a 600-foot round trip to the yard debris pickup spot, so I got in a mile of walking in addition to the climb. It's all good exercise.

@Matias I just uploaded a short of tipping an ash. the whole vid is boring, me beating wedges forever...thin hinge and gutted next time.

how's things? Rough here. Deaths, alzheimer's, and a lawsuit. Did get to whack a bunch of trees though.

 
While climbing this pine to remove several smallish dead limbs I noticed the old damage on the upper side of a live limb. It was already starting to sag there so I made a second climb with a rigging rope. I set it up so the outer part would rest on a lower limb while I cut off as much as I could on the inner end. It was balanced nicely so I lowered the rigging rope to the ground so I could tip the limb to fall clear of the shed.

Same yard with the long walk to the debris pile, so I got a lot of exercise.

While I was doing all this a pro crew was working a block away with an 80'+ track-mounted platform lift taking down a big pine that had been killed by bark beetles.

I want soooo much to ride a crane ball and go way up on a platform lift.
 
A little challenge in this Sweet Gum/Amber. Cleaning deadwood and a little structure pruning. I had some deflection help from the other side before going up and coming down. It was actually a fun little job.

Largish dead limb over the driveway was six inches in diameter at the cut. Rigged it with a speed line. Lots of noise when it hit the concrete, flipped partway over, and stopped with the big end up in the air. I untied the speed line and eased it down from there. Big job for the ugly little Kobalt saw, but it just keeps on cutting.
