Hemlock like to grow in stumps and logs.
I had to hit within 45* to avoid the fence. That was a quick and dirty double-cut with a 28".
That butt log stalled in the stump, held by almost nothing. Very balanced in the hinge, slow to tip.
If a tight lay, I'd have cut head-high, from a springboard, or from hooks.
The homeowner told her dad, 85 y.o., that she wouldn't let him do it. He's long past climbing.
