[ QUOTE ]
25 years ago I started with an old whipper chipper, owned Bandits, then morbarks, ended the company with a 12X a 15X a 18X a 20x oh yeah and a Morbark 20/36,

Woodsman were the best drum chippers I ever owned

Don't forget about that awesome 2114 I sold you.

We had demo'ed some woodsman chippers before, Good points and bad just like anything else. We had used a 18XXX?? ma, big bad MF'er. We filled our bucket truck with a chip body in 15 minutes chipping white pines, damn near lifted the end of the truck off the ground when the wood hit the blades, IMPRESSIVE. It had a metal powered conveyor to feed the chipper that was about 6 feet long. It was big, bad and red and I'm sure it's putting a hurting on trees today.

Bastage. He had it listed in early November (ended on the 7th I think), sold for $12666 I think. Can you leave negative feedback on him?

Did he give a minimum price?

when i tell you we don't f around believe it...

problem with that chipper though is that it dummies down the ground guys even further. not only is that machine doing all the work within grapple and winch reach but its ability to absolutely destroy crotches the boys (the 2 groundies we got on the crew now are relatively fresh to the crane game) are not learning where to be making all the right cuts that you'd have to make with smaller chippers to process the wood. i try to show em some tricks but half the time they looking up bewildered by the whales we setting down in front of them and instead of slowing down the tempo the pick gets put down cause wth its the grapple doing the work anyway.

thing is a beast though that is true enough.

there is also a 18x for the 3rd crew and that thing can and will do some serious work......

What was done about the issue...looks like the auto feed wasn't set correctly.

autofeed..... lol.

the discharge chute behind the drum was too open not allowing the machine to get a real good chip throw. it got narrowed up a little bit so the chips get forced through instead of falling back into the drum. kinda almost have to give the machine a break though because it is almost a one off type of machine. there are only like 3 or 4 of them out there. probably more now but this one was number 3 i think.... i am sure the newer models coming out will be throwing like the others. B crew's 18xx throw chips with some ferocity even though she got 8100plus hours on it. lol
