whoopie

Very new and rough to splicing, but wondering the best to make a whoopie with 2 even parallel spliced dead eyes to hold hardware?

Thanks

Kevin, I might be misunderstanding your question. Sorry if that's the case. The definition of a whoopie sling is a sling with one dead eye and a second adjustable, sliding eye. It's best made with Tenex and the instructions are here on Samson's website: Whoopie Sling

Tree logic I know typically that is a whoopie. Sorry I didn't explain it well enough.

Tree stuff has a whoopie with an xrr spliced in already spliced in.

I want to make a whoopie like that with a beast xrr instead of the large one but i would like to add a second leg with a second beast xrr. Passing both rings through the adjustable eye for a rigging point.

Old Fart made some xrr whoopies but wondered if I can do it with out prusiks so no one can take them apart.

Kind of a cross between a xrr whoopie and the xrr triple sling.

Sorry man, my bad.

Definitely could be done. Other slings have split legs with two eyes. That's the part I don't know how to do. Somebody around here knows.

So splicers, how do you do a split leg with two eyes in Tenex? I tried searching YouTube and everywhere else and haven't found it.

Not sure i know the proper search terms...

The best I can figure is lock and bury the rings on to the host line and a smaller piece then lock and bury the 2nd piece just above the 1st then bury the host line in itself to make the whoopie loop.

However the standing piece before the whoopie loop would then be 3 fids long and that seems kinda dumb for a choker sling. So maybe this idea is not my best

Thanks Kevin. Apparently we're asking for proprietary info here. Everybody's all hush hush.

When I get a minute I'll try to figure out what you're saying and give it a try and report back.

I know Bonner knows how to do this...

just a thought, as i am greener than grass when it comes to splicing, but could you somehow build it like this:

splice an xring into tenex, essentially making a whole whoopie sling. then, the best way i can describe it is to create a short dead eye sling with a XRR in the eye, and bury that into the main portion of the whoopie as well, resulting in both rings ending up at the same spot, then stitch it all together.

this is probably something totally wrong to do, but its a thought i had.

what is the wll and bend radius for a 3/8" sling

my thought was 1/2" tenex with xlg x-rings for a good bend and price for each

I made this one bc I had the materials on hand. I plan on having it break tested in the near future as will report the numbers. I have another method that can be used depending on the strength of this one.
