My wife has a donor cornea in her left eye. She was blind in that eye due to scar tissue. It is now her strong eye. She is a writer and a painter and a happy girl. She does a lot of volunteer work now for the Lion's Eye Bank. The best event of the year is when the families of local donors are invited to a gathering to honor their loved ones. It's incredibly moving as they show a favorite picture of each donor---very young and old alike.
