Who hangs their chainsaw from a caritool?

I understand what you was saying.I was knoting that even the pruning cut old ways will do the same.Being to high over the hinge wood will break away pass the saw bar.Never was a fan for 45 face notch when in trees.A lot of times your hooked where its hard to really judge the height over the hinge always been trained to use the open-face notch more control over the 45.But you got to feel lucky didn't kick back on you.Glad you still here.Watch the back cut cause it will bite.

Ok here goes I will use Humboldt face mostly when blocking down big straight spars ( main ). On laterals I would use a mixture of open face and 45 degree face and what the hell even a humboldt depending on the lean of the lateral, my position, the size of the piece and a bunch of other variables. Situation situation. I could never say I am only going to use open face when working in a tree. There are so many different cuts and we need to know when and where to use them. Just my $.02.

I've been using the ANGE L biner for over a year ...

It's too small to be mistaken for the D-ring and strong enough to hold you even if you do.

I got lucky and found a little sewn pocket in the 1.75" webbing on the saddle. Just forced it in.

Luke's got them now for under $15.

I've used a small caritool for about four years now and just recently had a problem, the gate popped of and couldn't find it when we were raking up. I've had every kind of saw from a 395XP with a 36" bar to a 200T and never worried about it breaking.

I've lost a gate on a small Caritool and made a new one out of a section of coathanger. It works great and has lasted just over a year thus far. Never had a problem with the large one.

I have had the large one for several years and love it. Occasionally I hook something I don't want to, however it does not flop around like a normal biner would.

Since I first posted in this thread I stopped using the large caritool and use some of those kong pears that lay flat. Catches less branches in thick stuff.
