when to replace equipment

If you gotta ask if it needs to be replaced , than it has to be replaced. Hows that ? If you can't give it away , than you shouldn't keep it . How about that one ? Anytime.

you missed the point of the question. i know when i replace my gear. i was just wondering who others do it. i am trying to learn so that i can become a better, safer climber. you must feel that you are already as good and as safe as you need to be. i feel that when you stop learning and evolving as a climber, thats when you become a liability in the tree. please keep any further useless coments to yourself. you are not doing anyone on this site a favor!

ouch . I am pretty good and I am safe . All the rest depends on the situation . I'm not the best and I'm not the safest either , and all my comments aren't useless . Some not all . Think I can learn from you ?

i hope you can learn from me. and i am sure you can teach me a thing or two. i have learned from climbers on their first day. just because someone is younger, or has less time in a tree, doesnt mean that they have nothing to teach you. everyone needs to keep an open mind to new ways of doing things.

I don't know how someone younger and with less time in a tree is gonna teach me anything about a tree . I'll give you a serious answer on your original post , since I kind of got it off track cause I was buzzin on the buzz.
Equipment replacement with climbing tools and rigging are the easiest choices to make. Equipment like buckets, cranes and loaders are the hard choices . I think the hard equipment gets a longer pass than the climbing , rigging . Money and laziness/neglect are the few things I worry about, a grease gun is one of my favorite tools . The things you can't see are the most dangerous. now back to my ff team, wide receiver or tight end...I need a win. I get away with talkn sh*t alot better than I do typing it.

EMR welcome to the buzz in the time I have been on the buzz I have learned alot of great advice and learned the take it with a grin comments. If it comes to equipment and when to replace it you are the judge on that one. Your equipment comes with care instructions if you use them you can see the deffects and go from there.
I go on a gut feeling when it comes to eqipment replacement, if you feel it needs replaceing then do it. All of us can give opions and it is up to you in the end to make the decisions and go from there.
