When arborists disagree

Good luck with reporting. I did it once and ISA just dumped it in my lap to do all the legwork. I’m not too impressed with them after that and other issues.
It was my understanding that they would pursue copyright/trademark violations. I know a friend who is an urban forester reported (for an ethics violation) a company who topped a city's trees under a contract requiring work be done under the direct supervision of a Certified Arborist. That went nowhere.

Maybe the local chapter would act on it - or at least contact the offender and offer to help them meet the credentials they are advertising???

I’ve reported one company once. I had to prove the false use of the logo, and ISA said they will contact the person with a cease and desist then get back to me. I had a photo of their truck with a big ole Certified Arborists logo. They never followed up with me.
About a year later, I was hired to write a report on illegal topping and timber trespassing within a critical area. I was all gung-ho about getting the mofo and making him pay for his sins. It came out that this was a rush job because word got out he was terminally ill, and the position change to let’s hurry up and sue his insurance before he dies.
I’m still not sure how I feel about my role in it, they settled out of court and it was a pretty penny.

My understanding is local chapters are entirely independent of the ISA, but hold a mode of understanding agreement with the mothership
