whats your favorite beers

Hello all. If it comes in a bottle, or a can, or out of a tap I'll try it. Traditional ales and lagers are my usual.
My first beer was PBR cause that's what my dad drank. Now Yuengling is my everyday beer. I also keep Guiness Stout and Harp on hand so I can make half & half's. Coors Light for my wife. A lot of my family members drink Miller or Busch(I go for the Miller).

I picked up a Sam Adams Winter Brew variety pack to try for the holiday season (it was on sale). Not bad.

One of my favorite micro-brews is Otter Creek Copper Ale from Middlebury, VT. I tried it years ago on my first trip to Killington and loved it. I always try to sample some of the local brews when I'm traveling. There are some really good local beers being made and it would be a shame not to try them.

"Beer is proof that God loves us, and wants us to be happy"
Benjamin Franklin.

Names are marketing tools, just like the bud girls or horses (depends on your preference I guess).

Microbrews introduced the local variety beer once had and moved toward stronger, flavorful versions. I don't drink much but like something with body or taste. I'll drink water if I want to cool off then just enjoy a beer after.

To each there own.

Radeberger Felsenkeller
Hãfe dunkel and Pilsnerbier from Check Republik
Kilkenny
Guinnes
Heimabryggja Vossaøl
Jolaøl from Hansa

Part from that I usually enjoy a good Spanish red wine.

No self-respecting man actually enjoys budwiser do they?

Pretty much any Wisconsin made beer is ok by me. Even though Miller and Pabst are no longer locally owned. Capital brewery in Middleton is my favorite, but PBR is my drinking beer.

Bells has some pretty outstanding brews too... Especially the octoberfest.

Budwieser... Ha!

At the international conference this year, the local St Louis guy told a story about a previous attempt to bring the ISA to his city. He had a cart loaded with iced-down Budweiser. After he was rejected, he was pushing his cart back to his hotel room and passed a meeting of some ISA committee or other. He wheeled in and offered the beer to the committee, as he didn't really need it anymore and was feeling a bit dejected. The Chair (whose name someone may remember) asked his committee, "Anyone want this pisswater?" Hearing no replies, he declined the offer.

Which pretty much sums up my feelings about Budweiser. If that Chair wants to go have a real beer with me, I'd be glad to join him and mock the wimpy downstream American beers. I like the dark stuff mostly, but Shiner started making a Hefeweizen this year that was quite tasty. I've also been enjoying Sierra Nevada Christmas Ale this month, though it's a bit too much for me most of the time. Maybe that's why it's seasonal.

But if I had to declare an all-time fave, it would have to be Guinness.

A cold beer at the end of a hot day. I don't really care what it is, I just know that I will enjoy it. MGD is what's in my bar fridge. Spaten is for special occasions.

Mm, Chimay is heavenly. PBR is just fine, too. Can't beat a Berghoff. Budweiser is a marketing success story (it was to be AB's lesser beer, but Americans loved it due to the advertising way back) , so perhaps it is a truly American beer. Don't make it good.
