What's better?

While I understand the physics of rope angles and the shifting of dynamic forces during rigging, the ability for both stems to move during rigging (dynamic) versus tying them together (static) has been my favored choice for some time.

Check out this video from Dave Coleman as he rigs out a large top from a heavily leaning Euc at around 4:45. The leaner moves, and there's lots of room to let the pick run, but it's super smooth with no whiplash action.

That is some phenomenal footage! I know I was supposed to see some rigging technique while watching that, but it was lost on me, sorry. I was too focused on how visually stunning it was.

I would say seperate slings on each, hanging down to meet in the middle at less than a 90 degree angle. This I would imagine put the forces more inline with the stems working with the trees strength instead of pulling the crotch together, working against its strength (in my mind). This is just how my mind works, I am quite possibly wrong.
Exactly what my instincts told me. Use the strength of each stem instead of putting pressure on the area with the included bark. But thats just how MY mind works and could quite possible be wrong...
