What does the FUTURE arborist look like?

The future is now fellas!

Yeah, I know the drone technology is already there, but Nick's drone doesn't look like something out of a science fiction movie...or I guess a Walmart fan aisle.
Also, the guy from the future spent his entire budget on the other stuff he couldn't even get himself a Protos...He had to use that old fashioned hard hat system.

Yes I did. I switched it over to ArboriCole. My last name is Cole not KAYS. KAYS stands for KING At Your Service which is the name of the Company I co-own with my Father-in-law. I wanted to change my youtube channel to capture more than just videos I have done for my company.

I hope that change didn't throw you off too much.

I'm glad you figured it out.

Look at the battery powered tools available now. Dismantle one of the chainsaws and put the battery pack on your harness run wires to the motorhead. Light weight and compact

Or hang the battery pack on your rope and get the weight off the climber completely.

The future arbos will
Likely have fewer muscle/skeletal wear and tear ifntheybusenthe tools available to them. Save the shoulders, back, hips and knees
 
In the future I hope that someone comes up with a cream that speeds up compartmentalization for large pruning cuts.

Yeah, I dream of Roceteer like capabilities.

Retractable gaffs.

Drones large enough to replace the crane for rigging applications.
 
Sadly I think future tech in this industry will likely move towards mechanized pruning and removals. Removal solutions for conifers is already getting interesting. For pruning I predict some kind of drone based tool, the next generation of tree guys may already be training with Nintendo.

I just look to the history of automation and the first thing technology would likely try to replace is humans dangling from ropes in trees.

The good news is, trees are currently toxic to all fixed wing and rotary wing drones. Propellers and jet engines don't mix well with sticks. It will be a long time before we have a drone that could survive the environment, let alone lift a saw.

I have always thought Lightsabers would be great for replacing the chainsaw and... wait for it... the stump grinder. One tool to rule them all. We might need Lightsaber protective pants...or body suit.

I think we could do away with the chipper too, or at least convert the chipper too light saber knives.
