What do you think of my newest build?

Just out of curiosity, you have mentioned several times about the income of your company stating that it is a 5 million dollar company and clearing $15K/ day, so why the big push to sell these trucks? it seems to me that you currently have a unique product that sets you apart from other companies and you are trying to make it less unique by getting every other tree service to own one. Also there are laws against Impersonating a firefighter, not as common as the impersonating a police officer, but very similar.

In my opinion just because this truck can carry a lift and a mini skid does not make it more useful because it cannot tow a trailer or haul debris, so another truck is still needed, reducing its claim as a "one truck that does it all". I'd rather have a bucket truck (forestry package) pulling a chipper with a pickup loading the mini in the bed with the option of a trailer in tow as well, which is my current set up. When I upgrade equipment I will likely go with a rear mount bucket truck towing the trailer and a dedicated chip truck towing the chipper.

Just my thoughts as a small business owner who finds a smaller fleet appealing.

Yes, we are a large company that is doing quite well. These trucks are not available for sale by me to any local company where I am. I would not sell it. I am diversified, that’s part of what’s helps us to be successful. If you could sell firewood, would you? I have a system in place with the proper personnel needed to do these tasks, why not capitalize? It’s the same reason why people buy into franchises. It’s not that they can’t make sandwiches themselves, they would just rather “buy” advice from subway or whoever that has learned hard lessons for them.
Who is impersonating a firefighter? It does not say fire department anywhere on my truck. Are you impersonating aspludh if you buy one of their old trucks? FYI the fire department here in town loves my trucks, I have personally showed the trucks to them.
I’ve never seen a bucket truck that drives through a 36 inch gate. The people that like these lifts love them. If they’re not for you that’s fine but for the person That likes them, the truck might be for them.
We are not a one truck operation, we are all tools on one truck. That allows our crews that haul debris to be separate from our crews that are cutting. And that is why were able to get so much done in a day. Obviously this set up works, otherwise how would we be so successful in our market?

Fair enough, I'm not doubting that it works for you. I was intrigued at first due to liking minimal vehicles, however I don't think it will work for me. As far as the impersonating, it looks exactly like a fire truck and you mentioned in a previous post that other cars pull over when you have your flashers on. I imagine you mean your 4 ways and not the fire truck lights, but if regular citizens see you as a potential fire truck at some point a cop will as well.

Feel free to do what works for you, I'm not saying not to, just that I don't think it'd work so well for me and I was just curious about the push to get the trucks out.

The whole impersonating a firefighter comment is just hilarious.

It's defiantly a good idea to get the lift and the mini on the same truck. @CanaryBoss I've used the OMME 2750 lift for about a year now, it seems a little heavy in the front so I've always preferred backing down hill vs going down forward but I bet if you just go slow it will be fine, plus having the basket off might help. If the upper boom telescopes out
(with gravity) even just a tiny bit the machine will become immobile. If that happens you could try putting a couple ratchet straps on the big tie down holes at the end of the upper boom (which I should do on my machine).

I would like a firetruck rig like you have built to accommodate tools, mini skid steer and the lift. The flatbed would have to slide out and tilt to the ground (like a tow truck) and I would want the lift loaded facing forwards (ideal if you are limited on length when unloading) and the man basket left on.

It would be a HUGE added bonus to have that same flatbed act as a hook lift, placing the lift and mini on the ground and even picking up other beds would be awesome.

Towing a trailer can be such a pain, your set up will work great to move in and get the material down. Firemen take crazy good care of their stuff and for that price you can't beat it!

I like it. I have 60k in a single 1ton, so that sounds like a good price to me. I like to make the most of everything I have, so I would want a way to load logs on the deck and get them back off again. The mini could load the logs... What do you think of making the deck tilt? Also, what does that weigh without machines on it?

I’m in Panama City working right now and literally just had a fireman hire me an hour ago to pull some trees off his house based solely on the fact that he loved my trucks. He introduced me to his neighbor/firefighter buddy as “the guy with the awesome fire trucks” it’s just plain good for business.

Soo, wow! That’s a lot to do on a fire truck. I love a good challenge, but I’m not sure it’s achievable in a reasonable budget. As for a tilt deck, it could be done but you give up some things. Your deck is your stability holding your boxes on both sides. So it would have to be a double deck which raises the height which affects the approach angle and so on and so on.
If you turn the machine around backwards, it would require such a long deck that it would have to be build on a double axle ladder truck with the ladder removed. Could be done though. On a double axle, I could make the part behind the axles detachable for a hooklift, but man the price would be rediculous. Those tool bodys get their strength from the frame and deck, so I would have to make a sub frame for it and maybe have to chop the existing frame for it to fit over. It’s a really interesting idea and it’s had my head spinning for a couple days now. Could I do it? Of course! Would it be worth it financially? That would be up to you to decide

The truck weighs about 18k empty.
