What do you do when you show up to an agreed upon job and it's already done?

They could be at the mercy of their know-it-all kids. you know how some of them can get. Specially if they’re some young men wanting to show off and cut down trees.

No problem. It is a rough list that my wife and I are continually adding to that we plan to edit down and post on the website as well as print for customers. The goal is to inform a client’s expectations so that we aren’t constantly reacting to the wide gambit of how people think a tree job should go. We normally have an overwhelmingly positive reaction to our work and cleanup, but there are always people that think you bring a crane to every job AND vacuum the yard clean. Another goal is to get customers to do their own yard prep, i.e. dogshit and garden gnomes, or pay a fee.
I will work on it this week, we’re on vacation in Branson. I had no idea there were trout here, and didn’t bring my fly rod. It’ll give me something to do.
I will post it under its own thread and we can all tear it apart and add to it.

Awesome thank you and looking forward to it.

I have walked off numerous jobs literally over dog shit :aburrido: how about leaky septic... I could go on. One of the worst in my book is the cars are parked directly in the way and no one has the key... or they aren’t awake yet. You knew we were coming I give people a courtesy call or text... it’s not that difficult. Chainsaws make great alarm clocks. Most of our client have good intentions. It’s taken me years to keep the bad ones at bay now I price myself out if i have that feeling during an estimate... let them go with the competition. I will sleep just fine

Hard when working for owner or agency and tenants pull this bs. I have lost clients this way after tenants did it to me twice in a row and I didn’t get job done. Sad to lose a client especially when tenants cause said issue, but in end not worth wasting time over - move on...

A friend of mine did vinyl lettering. Between me and his layout person we made up a NO PARKING sign that looked exactly like a city street sign. It said no parking between 8-5. The difference was that at the bottom I put my logo and contact info with verbiage about the car being towed. Thy signs were made out of white corrugated plastic with holes punched in the corners. Easy to zip tie to line or fences.

Once I did that I never had anyone park in my zone. I'd hang the signs the evening before.

excellent idea nobodies gonna steal your sign and they think their legit... cones seem to magically disappear in some areas... I am more or less talking about cars still in the drive way, but I will definitely keep that one for future use.

Chaplain242 I hear yeah about working for tenants I did that early on not the jobs im looking for now... The amount of time wasted and mental anguish... I have a client list and a black list... guess which is longer.............

You guys are looking at this tenant thing the wrong way. When dealing with tenants, I have it written in the contract that any cars left in the way will be towed at the landlords expense. Any delays caused by tenants will be billed to landlord at $75 per 15 minute interval. That usually takes care of it and if it doesn't, no problem as we are being compensated for the bs.
