This guy here is my retirement. He is a two year reining prospect. He's the most expensive thing I own.

Just be happy you dont have a wife who is addicted to Dressage. We have a Warm Blood Oldenburg/Hannovarian gelding. 17.2 hands. Big [use a better word] with hooves like dinner plates.
Premium at the International Sporthorse Registry w/ 8.5 score.
He gets new shoes every 6 weeks at $275.00 a pop. Can you imagine how many shoes you would own if you spent that kind of money on them?
Dressage is a disease, let me itemize a few paltry items for you all:
Saddle: $2,500 (two) plus repadding every year @ $200.00
Riding boots: $845.00- she has three pairs
Board: $375.00/month
Training: $525.00/month
Bridle: $500.00- $400.00/per. she has I dont know just how many, but alot
Dental: $275.00 every 6 months
Did I mention all the other junk like saddle blankets, blankets, sheets etc.
All in all the worth of a horse?
It's weight in meat and whatever else you can get for it.
IF it does'nt founder, get lame, colic or turn nasty on ya.
Need I go on?
Better get back to work, I just keep telling myself it is cheaper than kids and leave it at that.
