Welcome to Tree Buzz! You and Gord have a beautiful place to be doing tree work.

I do consider myself very fortunate to have the career working with trees in such a beautiful environment. Squamish has changed quite a bit in the last few years, yet it still draws international rock climbing crowds and is Canada's outdoor rec capital (it says so on the sign entering Squamish

Glad to have you Matt. One word of advice regarding the TCC comp. Throw Ball! That event will determine winners and loosers.

I will be sure to make bringing my throwline cube with me while walking the dog a routine. I have done it a few times in the past, and I was actually surprised how patient she was while I tried tirelessly to fish my line out of the canopy.

Welcome to the Buzz! Are you wearing a Mount Washinton tee shirt in your avatar? I climbed the Mount Washington in New Hamphire, USA. twice thats why I ask.

[/ QUOTE ]

It is a Mount Washington t-shirt, but from a like named mountain in the Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, BC. Up until last March (when I started working with trees full-time) I was working as a Ski Patroller during the winters. So Mt. Washington was one of the mountains I worked at.

Welcome Matt!

Everyone is welcome on the Buzz! They even let me stay and mumble

I'm sure you will fit in, we've got all types of tree guys here, Oakmen, Eucmen and everything in between.

By all means don't hesitate to search the forums for your answers first but at the same time, don't hesitate to pop the question into a post.

Often times the new discussion bubbles up new and better info than the original.

Glad to have you here!

Hey Rick, Matt seems to be a little young to know about Oakmen and Eucman. It has been a while since I have read the whole story. I'll have to look up Don's website and see if it is there. Maybe one of the others will post it.

That's the Mt. Washington ski resort that offers the unique experience of arromatic smoke coming from the chair in front almost every run.

That would be the one. BC is pretty liberal in those regards, and Vancouver Island seems to be even more tolerant.
