Interesting enough, my app kept telling me white spruce. Thank you for your response!Dwarf Alberta spruce.
It is propagated from an abnormality of white spruce.
yeah, most don’t have enough room. They get in beds close to the house and start to infringe on the structure. I’m pretty sure they cannot be trimmed back as all the foliage is exterior on the ones I’ve seen.Def dwarf spruce. I kinda like em but the can be a nuisance, mostly because they get planted in bad spots often where I live. I guess people hear dwarf and think it will never grow or something.
I've also seen some where a certain branch will revert to the normal tree form and grow out of the main plant like a weird defect. Looks kinda cool imo.
Thanks, good to know. I’ll keep an eye out as I rip a couple out of the planter beds.Alberta Spruce. Yellow jackets love to nest in them.
easiest shrub to rip out....most come out even easier than boxwood. Thanks, good to know. I’ll keep an eye out as I rip a couple out of the planter beds.
Do you happen to know if there is a technical term for these types of occurrences? I know I've seen it in other plants but can't think of any examples off the top of my head... besides honey locust.Like this:View attachment 90381
