Welcome To Rope Logic

IDK...

They made my beast whoopie a while back. Gotta be honest. I hardly use it anymore. Just too many simpler ring configurations. It still has its place and was my go to for a long time.

I placed an order for a stiff tether yesterday that was listed as out of stock, so I'm guessing it needs to be spliced. Will it be rope logic branded instead of abr?

More than likely. We are doing this as a running change and wont waste existing labels if we dont have to. Either way it will be the same awesome product!

Quicksilver from the Sherrill team actually posted the fastest time, but there was a ton of chatter about who buried how far and whipped it with what technique. We are going to reissue the call soon with a standardized bury length and no whipping.
I thought the deadline was the end of September, no?

Clue me in - what's the advantage of the hitch over a splice?

I like it because when I get the long Whoopie with the Beast ring......, I can basket it if I want to, and use the same Beast ring with the "locking" lanyard, which is infinitely adjustable.

Hmmm... I'm not sure I got all of that, lol, but take a picture from the tree if you're able to.

I quit the whoopies because the finger traps were slipping under heavy load - happened twice and I couldn't catch large logs for a while while I switched course. Still wondering if it was user error or the nature of the product... If you're using basket configuration then you're probably not going to have that problem because your rigging point is likely to be above the piece you're rigging...

What is the weak point in that system? Will the tenex melt or abraid under friction from the hitch?

Were the splices made by pros?
If your bury isn't long enough, I could understand, but the string should break before it makes a proper bury that was set tight by the user slip... every time. You do have to set the "fingertrap" on whoopies and loopies by milking your slack back.

Whoopies can slip, that's thier weak spot, loopies do not slip when choked with the bury section evenly split amongst the bight(or whatever you wanna call it)
