Weekend Accomplishment 09.05.09

This weekend my wife and me started a long wanted, and in our own opinion well earned, holiday in Greece at the island Crete. Nothing much is gonna happend, eat, drink, make love, sunbath and sleep - yep, its gonna be sooo great!!!

ON Saturday about 12 climbers came to the SRT Picnic in Austin, TX. There were a couple of rec tree climbers and a caver too. This may have been the highest concentration of Unicenders ever except for Morgan's shop. There were at least six attending so anyone who wanted to join the Uniflyers could climb.

The tree was SOOO great! About 6-7 FOOT DBH and maybe 100' tall. We had a few lines in the tree so people could get up and move around.

Bowlegs Bill showed his piggyback DdRT setup. That seems to be a nice addition for limbwalking.

At around noon some sausages went on the grill. Then the food spread was put out. Someone invited the local Fly Invasion Team which was the low point of the picnic. Not such a big deal to handle though! Everyone ate up and there were lots of laughs.

After lunch there was some more climbing. Then, Bill and I were sitting up in the tree when Guy LeBlanc hollared up about setting up a zipline. We had a great place in the tree to run a line too. The five of us who were still hanging around zipped up the tree and then zipped down too.

When we had our fill of zipping it was sipping time at the local pub.

Jim and I have talked about having a picnic in Dallas next month...stay posted.

I started on this pond 3 days ago and cant stop playing around with it.Rocks are way heavier than wood. My back is shot but I think all the heavy lifting/draggging/rolling stuff is done. I feel like I am trying to recreate someplace I have been or would like to go. Too bad the
free way noise is louder than the waterfall.
serinity now...
Anyone else have experience in this area?
