I sometimes wear two earings--one diamond for wedding, one birthstone, both as a present from my wife.

quick poll:

How many guys/girls took off their rings while reading this?

I did...

I did too. I did run into some issues explaining to my wife why I needed to do this. So, she took hers off. Now we are both safe.

Did you show her the pictures of what you might end up looking like by leaving the ring on when at work?

My wife would have a bigger problem with that then me taking my ring off. Now if it were at a bar that might be a different story!

After seeing that picture, I am taking mine off and never putting it back on! I have had a ring on through two marriages and never had a problem, but that picture just scared the hell out of me.....

I'm re-thinking keeping my ring on.

Yeah, that was a nasty pic.

I now have the feeling that I have P'od a lot more women than I ever thought I could...well O.K. maybe not that many...After the wedding I don't think I'm going to where the ring while doing tree work, Jeeping, or working on equipment/vehicles. Those were some nasty pictures and I'm sure that must be a LONG healing process if there IS a healing process!!

My wedding ring actually saved me once. I was hooking up a black locust tree with no lanyard on, something I did all the time when I was younger and didn't have a family. My hooks kicked out and slid down the tree until my wedding ring caught on a little stub and caught me enough to break my fall so I could get my hooks in. It was an eye opener for me and I think that is when I started to use a lanyard more. Today I wouldn't even think of not being tied in.
