one of my friends on the island cut up his thumb pretty badly from his climbing saw. be careful out there guys and dont one hand your saw when you can avoid it!

Ouch, and the fun has only just begun for him.

Hope there is minimal nerve damage as that is the ghost that will haunt him for the rest of his life.

so story goes, he was one handing and pushing a chunk of palm stem over with the other hand and as he pushed it over he hit his thumb on the saw chain while it was still spinning!

This happened to me in May of last year and I did have both hands on my saw. So there are other things besides the one handing that happens.

One weird thing about chainsaws- they'll eat whatever you feed 'em.

Sure will, chain moving or not.

I got my first bite drop starting my 460 (brake on). Took a nice bite out of the front of my lower leg. Total duuurrr moment but I learned a lesson.

True that Adam, buddy ended up with a distinct chains track down his forehead and nose when he pulled the saw out of a pinch. The saw had stalled.

Learned of another saw accident today. Left arm mauled.


The finger is healed but still feeling weird. No surface feeling, but weird tingling internally. Still have the strange sensation in the fingertip when I take a deep breath!

Everytime I see someone cut one handed and push with the other its like fingernails on the chalkboard ... Nice deep notch and she'll fall right into the face like you dropped a bomb.. fast, easy, safe... then just keep cuttin'

Injuries mostly happen under stress and tiredness.

did my finger on a tablesaw a few years back, should have stopped working 20mins earlier when felt the frustration kick in.

shame . i get it ! thousands of people cut with one hand and you get a boo boo and the one hand police show up . Guess what ? if a chain saw will cut a tree it will cut flesh too ! HEY !!! Watch those chainsaw teeth , jaywalking , no seatbelts , cheatinng , cleaning loaded guns , drugs , un wanted pregnancys ......should I go on ? got a boo boo , dont cut with one hand , fkn joke !
