Washing rope

I put a climb line in a washer with an agitator once, no bag, it worked itself under the agitator in a couple places and I’m guessing it put some serious pulls on the rope. It had some real hard sections in it. Never climbed on it again. Used it for pulling little trees over but never trusted it with anything important.
 
Just noticing that Wesspur recommends a front loader. I understand not wanting an agitator, but what is wrong with top loaders that have no agitator, as compared to front loaders?
I washed mine in a top loader for 8 years. New house has a front load. Really only difference I can tell is that the front loader leaves the rope nearly dry
Should be noted i daisy chain the entire damn thing first
