Why does anyone need a lanyard over 12'? You can always pull up the tail of your rope or another line.... I tried it for about a year and could count on one hand the times I used the whole length. Everyone of those times I could have routed my climbing line differently or used a redirect or pulled up the tail of my climb line

Have to agree with Jeff, I prefer a 9'er...long lanyards are a personal preference, I just think they are overkill and a PITA....

I don't find much, if any, difference or advantage in having two loops hanging down as opposed to three.

it simply allows me to utilize more distant second-points-of-attachment, and to do so from a distance (without needing to be up close to attach a redirect) and without having to put my full weight on it (it being secondary)

yeah i started with twenty and used it a lot, been with seventeen a while and nowadays don't use it that much and could carry less but to me it's just a loop that is occasionally helpful.

ya'll can pull rope or wait for groundsmen all day long, ima click and cut ; )
