the photos are rolling in for the first ever (at least since I registered on here in February) TreeBuzz calendar. Now, what to do with all the massive funds (yes, Richard C, I said "massive"!) that will be generated from the sales of said calendar to each and everyone of you, all your family members, neighbors, neighbor's family... see, it really will be massive.

Let's take a poll... we wanted this to be more International, so if one area is chosen we can try to find similar organizations w/ a wider reach.

looks like the full descriptions didn't make it into those little boxes.
here they are...

1) Since 1989, Trees for the Future has been helping communities around the world plant trees. Through seed distribution, agroforestry training, and our country programs, we have empowered rural groups to restore tree cover to their lands. Planting trees protects the environment and helps to preserve traditional livelihoods and cultures for generations.
Our mission and history demonstrate how dedicated we are to sustainable agroforestry. (many much needed projects in Africa, Asia, Latin Am)

2)NAIDW is a nationally recognized 501 (c) (3) nonprofit charitable foundation where injured & disabled workers and their families find the resources, support, and guidance they need to reclaim their lives. NAIDW’s purpose is to provide short-term financial assistance to injured & disabled workers and their families suffering from the results of injury, illness, pain, or disability.

3)Trail’s Edge Camp is staffed by volunteers and funded through donations. Since 1990, this ambitious accomplishment of caring that has provided a five-day, five-night summer camp experience for campers ages five through 18 who are ventilator-dependent and medically fragile. there is horseback riding, archery, TREE CLIMBING and the Tree House - a structure designed to be accessible to campers, no matter what their disability. The tree house is nestled in the woods 25 feet off the ground and there is a place for campers to leave their wheelchairs behind as they enter the canopy of the trees to hang out with friends.

4) a place for Buzzers to drink beer :)

Laurie,
Firstly.... you're awesome...

Secondly I vote for #1 from these choices...

Thirdly... I almost remember that there was a discussion about a treeclimber's fund.... MarkC's name is attached to it in my brain.... Just trying to add another option. (Maybe Tom knows others....)

And last but not least... you're awesome.

LOL, well thanks for that vote of awesomeness, I accept the nomination...

and yeah, if anyone knows of a fund or organization directly assisting treeclimbers, please let me know. I've tried to contact the ISA to see if they have any initiatives going, so maybe I'll hear back on something along those lines.

Thanks Mark!

and I should've been quicker to say that Pruningal (Katy) and Frax (Nora) have been brining their full force awesomeness to this project as well... we're kinda unstoppable, so look out....And send in pix to the calendar thread over in WOTT!
