Video Editing

My wife bought me the Go pro helmet cam a couple weeks ago. I have been playing with it a little and was wondering what software everyone was using to edit their raw footage? It seems like I get a couple good parts in the videos and a lot of fluff as I call it. It would be nice to edit out the junk. Thanks

I use PowerDirector by Cyberlink. You can download a 30 day trial for free and see if you like it.

Video editing can require a lot of computing power, especially HD videos.

A pirate didn't give me mine, but I thougt it would be the cat's meow. It's okay IMO.

I'm saving to buy an iMac with Final Cut Express 4 on it.

Anyone use this?

Not sure about that Mac, but my wife just bought her first computer, and our son and I who have PC's, suggested a Mac laptop. She loves it.

I've tried PowerDirector mentioned earlier, but often just use the Windows Movie Maker supplied already with Windows, which is more than sufficient for basic videos.

Although there's some video it won't import.

Bet Gerald Beranek has tinkered with one or two kinds.

MM won't edit HD video.

I now have a b.l. copy of the full Adobe PS CS 4, which incldes Premiere, toal retail value about $2600.

Haven't even installed it yet on the new i7 Intel 920 processor based puter that I recently built. 12 gb memory and 6 TB of HD spread among four of them. Had to build something that good to be able to edit the full HD video that both my new Canon SLRs produce. But I've been so busy shooting pictures lately and working, that I haven't had time to do any editing

What he means is that he's trying to keep up with me.

Therefore, surpassed my last upgrade.

Honestly, I'll probably go with a Mac next time, versus building. But it will be 2 or 3 years.

Wait intil Urban TC sees this.
He and I have been upgrading our pcs constantly in the quest for a lag free gaming environment. Good thing there are non-evil uses for this power other than gaming.
