Vermont rec climb in Feb.

hair dryer? lots of towels? ooh I know Sham Wow.

I am hoping this snow melts before hand. C'mon global warming. Even if it doesn't, we only got like six inches.

So, the details for the climb...

Sat. Feb. 23rd starting at 10am going till 3pm or so. I have arranged for parking at the St. Jude parish in Hinesburg 10759 Rte. 116. It is just south of Lantman's Grocery on the north bound side. They have a big lot and we'll be parking around the back. Figuring we'll show up, do intros, and a bit about our climbing experience, then hike up.
Everyone should dress warm and pack a lunch. And be prepared for a short hike (10 min.) to the site.
There may be a few inexperienced climbers there, so some extra gear basics would be cool. I have an extra rope or two and an ecrin roc, I have a LG weaver basic. We don't need much and might not need any, think light.
When we're done with the climb there is a pub just up 116 from the church and anyone who wants to go warm up and grab a drink or a bite is welcome.

Unless it dumps on us before next Saturday we are going to be relatively snow free up in the woods there. We just deadwooded a couple of trees Last Sat. Lookin good for the 23rd

Spar AR, baby! Looking forward to it, too. I sure hope to meet lots of new people up there, and enjoy some VT night life.

VT night life? Is that like tipping cows after dusk?

Thanks to Mac for hosting an excellent rec climb in a beautiful stand of large, old trees. Old Sugar Maples are a good time for sure.

There was a nice group of climbers to warm up the day of slightly chilly snowiness. We got a nice visit from the Sugar Crew with their dual-horse team pulling a wagon of supplies. Everyone shared some helpful ideas and techniques, and we had just enough time to run through another AR spar pick-off demonstration.

Vermont is a great place to visit, and the night life is far more interesting than tipping cows, ADAM!!!

Don't miss out when the next one comes along, even if you're just going for the hot cider and fresh donuts!

Even tipping cows is more exciting than a typical night for me.

Sooner or later weekends will slow down around here and I'll be able to make some of these.

Let's see some pics!

We need to get a compilation of photos together, or request submissions here from other climbers, since I only took 1 single photo...when the horses came through. What a quiet way to get syrup. They can sneak right up on you on quiet, snowy ground!
